About
On 14 February 2017, a regional conference on the safety of journalists in South-Eastern Europe will take place in Prishtinë/Priština. The conference will feature representatives of prominent media organizations from Kosovo and the surrounding region, as well as from the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media and OSCE field operations in South-Eastern Europe.
Participants will examine the current situation related to the safety of journalists in the region, as well as trends impacting freedom of expression and freedom of the media. The conference will measure progress made in the investigations of murdered and missing journalists, examine the increase in threats faced by female journalists reporting online, and evaluate regional efforts on the protection of journalists and raising awareness on the role of the media.
