The OSCE Mission in Kosovo is supporting a televised debate focusing on youth participation in decision making, for International Democracy Day on 15 September 2011.
The debate will bring together Members of the Assembly of Kosovo, Hydajet Hyseni and Arben Gashi; and the first President of the recently established Kosovo Youth Action Council, Mensur Morina; and the Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador Werner Almhofer.
This debate will be used to discuss the current state of youth involvement in democratic processes and to explore policy options, as well as future roles of government and non-government stakeholders, in increasing youth participation.
It will air on Thursday, 15 September, at 20:05 hrs, in the Albanian language, and on Saturday, 17 September, at 17:00 hrs, in the Serbian language.
The OSCE Mission in Kosovo is mandated with democracy building and human rights protection and promotion. It is helping to establish a participatory mechanism for young people on both central and local levels.
